Wellsprings Church is a family integrated church that is now starting its fourth year and every year we have been in existence we have seen a steady growth of families committing to our fellowship. Of those that have come, especially in the past couple of years, nearly all have come from other churches. This is a question we receive periodically from folks considering attendance at Wellsprings Church or from other organizations/ministers/pastors within the community. To which, we respond “there is no pastor” – yes, imagine the puzzled looks we have received. “No pastor? But who leads the church? Who teaches?” To that, we simply reply “the elders”. In our pursuit to measure all that we do against God’s Word, we have found ourselves in a leadership model that is quite unique and contrary to mainstream churches.
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT at Wellsprings Church!
Wellsprings Church will be showing the movie Divided: Is Age Segregated Ministry Multiplying or Dividing the Church as the next installment of our ongoing FAMILY NIGHT movie series.
ABOUT THE FILM: Divided is a movie about one crisis the church faces today. Christian youth are rapidly leaving evangelical churches for the world. This well-recognized disaster has been the topic of significant discussion in recent years for both church leaders and modern news media. DIVIDED follows young Christian filmmaker Philip LeClerc on a revealing journey as he seeks answers to what has led his generation away from the church.
Traveling across the country conducting research and interviewing church kids, youth ministry experts, evangelists, statisticians, social commentators, and pastors, Philip discovers the shockingly sinister roots of modern, age-segregated church programs, and equally shocking evidence that the pattern in the Bible for training future generations is at odds with modern church practices. He also discovers a growing number of churches that are abandoning age-segregated Sunday school and youth ministry to embrace the discipleship model that God prescribes in His Word.
